Jennifer Lindsey McKillip, 38, of Athens passed away on July 13th, 2025. The daughter of James and Sharon McKillip, Jenny grew up in Athens where she attended Cedar Shoals High School and was a member of Athens First Baptist Church. In addition to being a loving mother to her son Sam, Jenny was also a talented artist who enjoyed painting and drawing. In recent years, she rediscovered her love for playing music and had begun teaching herself to play the piano. Her true passion, however, was in caring for others. Jenny worked at a local nursing home for several years, providing care to seniors. She also worked as an in-home caregiver for Helping Hands, a local care service. Jenny will be fondly remembered for her caring spirit, contagious laughter and witty sense of humor. In addition to her parents, Jenny is survived by her husband, Tony Lumpkin; son, Sam Lumpkin; niece, Danielle Williams; sister, Katie McKillip; brother, Neil McKillip as well as several extended family members.
Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 3pm at First Baptist Church of Athens, 355 Pulaski St, Athens Ga 30601. Interment will follow at Athens Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5PM until 7PM on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Lord and Stephens Est Chapel.
