Listen to Obituary

Jean Lillian Russell Everett, 81, passed away on June 8, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

Ms. Everett was born to the late Mr. Raymond J. Russell and Clara Beaulieu Russell on August 31, 1944 in Old Town, Maine.

Jean Lillian Russell married William Robert Everett on January 23, 1965. Together, they had two children, Lisa and Ron, and built a close knit family that expanded throughout her life with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A lifelong resident of Maine, Ms. Everett moved to Athens in 2019 to be closer to the ones she held most dear, her children and their families. Together, they learned to swap the harsh Maine winters for the sweltering Georgia summers; something she would only do to be with her family.

Ms. Everett’s life was filled with many hobbies and adventures and she enjoyed an active life for many years. In Maine, Ms. Everett was involved in the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the KC Hall, the Red Hat Society, and was an avid bowler at her local bowling alley. She also loved the outdoors. She would explore the world around her by biking, cross country skiing, and walking with her friends. She spent most of her winters in Florida where she made even more friends and learned to quilt. After moving to Athens, Ms. Everett spent most of her time with her family. While she was often with her family, she continued walking daily and taking many trips to THE Walmart.

Ms. Everett is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a grandson (Christopher Everett), her son-in-law (Mark Coulombe), her brother-in-law (Robert Martin), and her sister-in law (Lois Russell).

Left to cherish the memories they made together are her children, Lisa Coulombe and Ron Everett (Amy); her siblings, Gloria Moreau (Edward); Robert Russell; Mary Martin; her 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She will also be dearly missed by her life long friends.

Private Services will be held at a later date in Ms. Everett’s home state of Maine.

Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes, EAST, has been entrusted with arrangements.
