Janet “Jan” Adcock Pledger, 63, died May 11, 2026.

A native of Walton County, Jan was a daughter of Mary Jackson and Larry L. Adcock, Jr. of Athens. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Jan retired after teaching in the Walton County School System for many years. She was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and truly adored her children and grandchildren. They were more important than anything else in her life.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, WEST, with Rev. Steve Shierling officiating. Interment will follow at Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Gratis, GA.

Survivors in addition to her parents include her daughter, Ashley Pledger of Madison, GA and her children, Madison Holcomb, Mary Morgan Holcomb and Maci Holcomb; son, Chip (LeAnna) Pledger of Quitman, GA and their children, Adleigh Greene, Liam Greene, Jack Thomas Pledger and Sawyer Pledger; daughter, Whitney Bradshaw (deceased), and her children, Kinsee Bradshaw and Kase Bradshaw; son, Chad (Amberly) Pledger of Bogart and their children, Whitney Pledger and Warren Pledger; sister, Kaye A. Moreland of Watkinsville; brother, Trey (Carla) Adcock of Bishop; a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 9:30AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
