Jane Carol Light, 73, of Watkinsville, Georgia went to her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 8th, 2025 surrounded by family.
Jane was born on September 18th, 1951 in Newark, New Jersey and grew up in Florham Park, New Jersey as one of five children to Edgar and Margaret Bennett.
Jane began her career in nursing as a dialysis nurse, eventually retiring in the Home Health Care system with St. Mary’s. Her 34 year career in nursing gave her the opportunity to provide care for patients In several different settings, bringing smiles and joy to her patients and their families. Jane served the Lord and offered prayer for everyone. Her giving heart was evident in many ways. It was not unusual for her to bake cookies to share or bring a bag of needed groceries while providing the best care for those she served. Jane loved the Lord, her family, friends, and colleagues.
A beloved mother and grandmother, Jane will always be remembered for her cherished love of animals, flowers, gardening, birds, nature, UGA football, and most importantly, her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She chose to witness and share her love for Jesus up until her last breath. It was through her prayers and devotion towards her Christian faith that each of her children came to know and love our loving Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her children: son Bryan Light (Danielle) and daughter Allyson Ivey (Samuel), friend and former husband Walt Light, brother Bobby Bennett and six grandchildren, Kaley Ivey, Luke Ivey, Chloe Light, Michael Light, Cora Light and Marisa Light. She is also an aunt to many nieces and nephews.
A drop in visitation will be held Sunday, May 18th from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Lord & Stephens - Watkinsville. Please join us as we celebrate Jane’s life with family, friends and all who know and love her.
