Jane Melvin Eberhart, wife of William Frank Eberhart Sr., passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025. Born in Atlanta, GA, she moved to Jefferson, GA , very soon after at an early age where she grew up. She graduated from Jefferson High School, and went on to what was then, GSCW in Milledgeville, GA, where she graduated with an associate’s degree. After college, she moved to Athens and met the love of her life Frank Eberhart, a native Athenian, at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. They soon married, started a family, and were successful in different businesses here in the Athens area. She retired and lived the rest of her life very happily here in Athens. She was a very devoted member of the Jefferson Presbyterian Church for many years, the church where she grew up. She served as an Elder on the Church Session for several terms, while serving in numerous other roles, with a servant’s attitude, to assist in any way possible- she genuinely loved her church and her church family. She is survived by her sons, Frank Eberhart Jr, (Gisela Eberhart) of Watkinsville, GA, Pat Eberhart, (Susan Eberhart) of Birmingham, AL, her grandchildren, Tatum Eberhart, Travis Eberhart, (Anna Eberhart) of Birmingham, AL, Sarah Jane and Joiner Eberhart of Watkinsville, GA, and her great grandchild Clare Eberhart of Birmingham, AL. A memorial service celebrating Jane’s life will take place on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Jefferson Presbyterian Church, 243 Washington Street, Jefferson, GA 30549 with Pastor Paul Evans officiating.
