James Furman Shedd

James Furman Shedd, 83, passed away on July 29, 2024 in Athens, Georgia.

Jimmy served in the US Army in the 1960s, and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the US Army, he worked in accounting at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Athens. Other than his time in service, he lived his entire life on Double Bridges Road.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Clara Mae, brothers Thomas Thurmond and Hubert Glenn, and sister Hazel Catherine Shedd Landers. He is survived by niece Kay Landers, nephews Mike Landers, Clint Shedd and Clayton Shedd, and a large circle of friends.

A visitation will be held at Lord & Stephens East (4355 Lexington Rd, Athens) on Thursday, August 1st from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00p.m.
