James H. Moon

James Harold Moon "Jimmy", 66, of Athens passed away on July 17, 2026. Born on March 18, 1960, he was the son of the late Ruby Nell Fielding, Herbert Hodge Fielding, and Harold Lee Moon.

Jimmy retired from UGA as a supervisor in the grounds department. He was a loyal fan of the Georgia Bulldogs way beyond his time at the University. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Peggy Moon Coleman, Everett Fielding; his best friend and mother of his children, Debbie Montgomery Moon; granddaughter, Gracie Hope Anderson.

Survivors include his children, Sheila Firster (Danny), Shanda Pressley (Marshall), Jamie Moon (Melody), Sonya Johnson (Ashley); grandchildren, Leyah Pressley, Grayson Anderson, Anna Rylee Anderson, Payton Peters Hadju, Madison Peters, Makenna Peters, Paisley Firster, Lincoln Firster, James Blake Moon, Karly Moon, Savannah Patton, Emma Patton, Alexis Moon, Judson Moon, Ciara Moon, Aiden Johnson, Gavin Johnson, Ashley Bernard Johnson, Jr. “Jay”; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Jennifer Cook.
