James “Jim” Herman Fleeman Jr, 59 of Danielsville, Georgia, passed on November 11, 2025, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Born on July 18, 1966, in Athens, Georgia, he is the son of the late James Herman Fleeman Sr. and Helen Janet (Sanford) Fleeman. Jim was a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ and knew where he was going after this life.

Jim was very proud of his service to our country. Jim served honorably as a Specialist in the United States Army from July 1985 until October 1990. With five years of service, Jim was assigned to Company Charlie, 34th Engineer Battalion, FORSCOM Forces Command out of Fort Polk in Louisiana. Jim served in many capacities, including a heavy equipment operator, an explosives expert, a tracked vehicle crewman, and a soldier on tours from Germany to Honduras. Jim followed his motto as a Combat Engineer: "Essayons," which is French for "Let us try."

Jim would draw on his Army experience and apply it to his career in plumbing, where he spent his time mastering the art. Jim became a certified Master Plumber in the State of Georgia and in many other states. Jim took pride in being a plumber and was a proud employee at King’s Plumbing of Athens, Georgia. Jim was an avid motorcycle enthusiast who loved riding through the north Georgia mountains, a skilled bowler, and an outdoorsman.

Jim leaves behind a brother, Brian Fleeman; a sister, Brenda (Fleeman) Dyer; a nephew, John Michael Kilpatrick; a niece, Cherokee Dyer; and countless family and friends. Jim left a legacy for all who knew him, marked by his infectious smile and fond memories of all he encountered; Jim will be greatly missed.
