James Ambrus Benton Jr

James A. Benton, Jr., 87, died January 8, 2014.
A lifelong resident of Madison County, he was a son of the late Della Elsie Anderson and James Ambrus Benton, Sr. and was preceded in death by his wife of forty-two years, Olene Adams Benton. He retired from Westinghouse after thirty-four years and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Joy Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, Danielsville with Rev. Lee Adams officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife Hildred Parker Benton; three children, Gary Walker of Surf City, NC, Sam Walker of Danielsville, GA and Kathy Connell of Gainesville, GA; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including Ryan Benton of Danielsville, GA.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
