James Albertson - Athens, GA
James Edward Albertson, 89, died April 20, 2014.
A native of Seneca, SC, he was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elizabeth Vaughn Albertson, as well as two daughters, Joan Albertson and Delores Hunter; and grandson, Carl Martin.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Gertrude Albertson; son, Jim (Sonja) Albertson of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Robin (Mark) Hallenbeck, Brian (Kristin) Albertson, Mark (Lara) Albertson, and Ben Hunter; and nine great grandchildren.
Mr. Albertson was a veteran of the United States Army with service during World War II that earned him two bronze stars. He retired from the Naval Supply Corp. and was a longtime member and Deacon of Sandy Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST with Rev. Billy Owensby officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
