Jacqueline "Jackie" H. Scarborough

Jacqueline “Jackie” H. Scarborough, 85, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.

A lifelong resident of the Athens area, she was a daughter of the late Harold E. Hardeman and Bessie Moseman Hardeman. Jackie retired from the Clarke County Board of Education. She was a devoted friend who will be fondly remembered for thoughtfully sending cards to friends and family for every occasion. Jackie dearly loved her family and especially cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as “Nanny”.

Survivors include her children, Ricky Scarborough (Marie) and Lisa Callaway (Ken); grandchildren, Hal Scarborough (Nicole), Chad Callaway (Chancey), Cassie Barber (Freeman) and Kalen Bridges (Ryan); 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Thompson and Nancy Bell and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Graveside services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Jackie.
