Jackilan Chapman | October 1946-January 2026
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Jackilan “Jackie” Chapman (79) of Watkinsville, GA on Sunday, January 4, 2026. Jackie was born on October 23, 1946, in Eclectic, Alabama.
Jackie is preceded in death by her father, James Robert Williams; mother, Annie Ruth Williams; sister, Bobby Anne Williams; and sister, Jennifer Searcy.
She is survived by her brother, Clyde Robert Williams; husband, Ronald Douglas Chapman; her son, Ronald Tyler Chapman (Leigh); her daughter, Rachael Fairchild; her grandchildren, Gavin Chapman (Tabitha), Morgan Holland (Jacob), Macon Chapman (Sarah), Asher Fairchild, Sydney Fairchild, and Scott Fairchild; her great- grandchildren, Cason Chapman, Luke Chapman, Noah Holland, Emmett Chapman, Everly Chapman, and Lottie Holland; and her dear friends, Barbara Edwards and Charles White.
Beautiful, talented, and smart are how many would describe Jackie—none more so than her devoted husband, Ron. The two were married on March 27, 1965, and were inseparable from that day forward. Shortly after marrying, they moved to Athens, Georgia, where they lived for 14 years and welcomed their two children. In 1979, they moved to Watkinsville, Georgia, where the family has remained a cherished part of the community.
Jackie was known for her incredible painting skills and artistic talent. She sold her artwork through an antique store she owned in Bishop, Georgia, called Times Past. When she wasn’t painting or gardening, Jackie could often be found surrounded by friends and family. She played an instrumental role in helping love and raise her six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as “Nenny.” Her powerful presence, steady love, and unwavering support will be deeply missed but will live on through her family forever. We love you, Nenny.
Our family would like to honor Jackie’s husband, Ron, for his unwavering dedication and selfless care—always putting her needs before his own. We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Compassus Hospice Care for the comfort, compassion, and grace they provided Jackie and our family during her final days.
A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date.
