Irene Strickland

Irene Strickland, 90, died December 28, 2015.

A native and longtime resident of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Clara Spratlin Burroughs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Troy Strickland; daughter, Janice Strickland Harrison; son, Ronal Strickland and siblings, Rebecca, Sue, Sarah, Harry, Leroy, Spurgeon and Ruth. Mrs. Strickland was a homemaker and a member of Moon's Grove Baptist Church for many years.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, Danielsville. Interment will follow at Moon's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include three children, Denver Strickland, Diane Adams, Arnal Strickland; five grandchildren, Denise Cartee, Dwayne Harrison, Todd Adams, Melissa Martinez and Sam Strickland; five great grandchildren, Nicole Harrison, Tyler Martinez, Emily Adams, Blanton Adams and Blaine Adams; one great-great grandchild, Elaine Fabjon; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moon's Grove Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Advantage Hospice, especially Tammy and Jan for their care and compassion.
