Ina Mae Pearce

Ina Mae Graham Cobb Pearce of Athens, GA died September 26, 2026 at the age of 94. Ina Mae was a resident of Lanier Village Estates in Gainesville, GA for more than 20 years.

Ina Mae was the daughter of the late Alice Lena and Robert David Graham. She was preceded in death by her first husband Carlisle Cobb, their son Danny Cobb, and her brother Paul David Graham and cousin Nellie Graham. Ina Mae married the late Dr. John Pearce after moving to Lanier Village Estates in Gainesville from her Athens, GA home. She is survived by her nephew Brad Graham and his wife Crystal, and their sons Joshua and Matthew, her niece Julianne Cobb and her husband Drew Cobb. Other surviving nieces and nephew include David and Margaret Graham, Alice and Clint Pate, and Walter Graham. Ina Mae is also survived by stepchildren Joy Snider and John Calvin Pearce and their families.

Ina Mae cherished a variety of friendships but especially the company and special moments with dear friends Sandra Popham, Helen and Raymond Jeffords and Beth Grindle. Louise Brewer was also a friend and caregiver for many years. Her friends and family will be eternally grateful for the thoughtful care given by the entire staff at Lanier Village and Pruitt Hospice caregivers. Graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2nd at 1:00 pm at Oconee Hill Cemetery in Athens, GA. Ina Mae was a God-loving, caring and giving woman who was admired for her hard work and Southern charm as she served family and friends with the dedication of a saint. She was a gracious hostess, threw elaborate and memorable parties with tables adorned with all of the finery and gorgeous bouquets of flowers arranged with the skill of a master florist. Her multi-course meals never lacked in flavor or presentation and while serving it all she still managed to keep everyone throughly entertained and feeling privileged to be her guest. Her kindness and thoughtfulness were endless. She loved to travel and particularly to Marshwrack, outside of Darien, GA to share the beauty and uniqueness of a cherished joint family home with many. Ina Mae would often take visitors “crabbing” and by night fall prepare the most exquisite meal the Georgia Coast had to offer. She was generous in every sense of the word, with her time, talents, and financial contributions to those in need. Trying to capture the elegant, anchored and loving lady she was is difficult. Her great sense of humor and overwhelming kindness to all that were fortunate enough to know her will be cherished. Ina Mae Graham Cobb Pearce was the picture of a strong Southern beauty.
