Ida Vaudine Waller

Ida Vaudine Waller, 96, passed away on September 15, 2023. Born on September 27, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Emmett and Irene Houston McLendon.

Ida was a long-time member of Briarlake Baptist Church and was very involved with the businesswomen’s Sunday school class. She loved flowers and had a passion for gardening and yard work. She received her bachelor’s degree in teaching at Georgia State College for Women, now known as GCSU, in Milledgeville. She taught for over 40 years before retiring with Midvale Elementary in Tucker, Georgia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rosser Allen Waller; brothers, Vanecious McLendon, Hoyle McLendon; niece, Margaret Moreland.

Survivors include her children, Rick Waller (Debby), Joyce Clay (Mike); grandchildren, Reid (Catherine), Evan and Cora Waller, Alexandra and Michael Clay; great grandchildren, Daly, Rylan and Hayes Waller; nieces and nephews, Charlotte Atkins, Hoyle “Buddy” McLendon, Jr., Warren McLendon.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens in Snellville, Georgia with Pastor Steve Tillis officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Ida to the Alzheimer’s association online at or a charity of your choice.
