Ida Merle Threlkeld Fields

Mrs. Ida Merle Threlkeld Fields went home to be with her Lord on January 14, 2026.

She joined her late husband of sixty-four years, Mr. Dallas Norman Fields. Mrs. Fields was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thomas Threlkeld, her mother and father in law, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Fields, Sr. and her beloved son-in-law, Archie “Shaw” Dargan III.

She will be forever loved and remembered by her only child, Mrs. Linda Fields Dargan of Darlington, S.C. and remembered by so much love by grandchildren, Mrs. Nichole and Hal Ambos and Caroline of Savannah, Mr. and Mrs. David Egan of Myrtle Beach and Archie Shaw Dargan IV of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and her only brother, Howard Threlkeld of Comer, Georgia.

She loved life, her family and many friends and was such a blessing to so many. She was a wonderful cook and loved spoiling everyone with her sweet spirit. She also was a devoted Georgia Bulldog!! Sometimes Mrs. Fields had strong little opinions, but again with such a sweet spirit! She had a very special relationship with her Lord and Savior and always trusted His timing. To God be the glory for such a beautiful lady.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 3PM at Comer Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
