Hulit Grier Cartey

Hulit Grier "H.G." Cartey, Sr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2022.

H.G was born in Oconee County in 1927 and remained a lifelong resident with June Cartey, his wife of 70 years. H.G. dedicated his life to hard work, providing for his family and working in his garden. H.G. was preceded in death by his wife June Cartey, son James Cartey, sister Elizabeth Rost, and father Hulit H. Cartey.

H.G. is survived by four sons H. Grier Cartey Jr., Frederick T. Cartey, John W. Cartey, and Barton Q. Cartey as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, at Evergreen Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m.
