Henry Lamar Mauldin, born on June 8, 1941, in Watkinsville, GA, passed away peacefully at his residence on November 20, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Henry was a dedicated builder and a master carpenter, well-known for his skilled craftsmanship. He graduated from Oconee County, which set the foundation for a life filled with hard work and accomplishments. Henry was actively involved in his community and was passionate about his faith. He helped start seven churches, beginning with the Watkinsville First Baptist Church, where he was an active member for 37 years. Henry served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was also proud of his role in building and growing five more churches, with the Bethlehem Oconee Campus being one of his greatest achievements.
In addition to his work with the churches, Henry dedicated 25 years to the Red Cross, where he served in disaster damage assessment across a twelve-county area. His commitment to helping others was evident throughout his life.
Henry is survived by his wife, Sandra Ellen Hayes Mauldin, with whom he shared 63 and a half years of marriage. He leaves behind three sons: Christopher Lamar (Cathy) Mauldin, Jonathan Wade (Laura) Mauldin, and Michael Jason (Kimberly) Mauldin. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren: Mitchell Warren Mauldin, Brittany Lauren Mauldin, Samatha Necole Mauldin, Alyssa Grace Mauldin, Abigail Anice Mauldin, Ariel Enelise Mauldin, Anna Marie Ellen Mauldin, Kelsey Madison Mauldin, Jesse Alexander Mauldin, and Kaitlyn Renee Mauldin. Henry also had two siblings, Hoyt W. (Susan) Mauldin and Margaret Mauldin Anderson.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Freeman Mauldin and Thelma Frances White Mauldin, and his granddaughter, Mackenzie Rae Mauldin.
Visitation will be held on November 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes in Watkinsville, GA. Celebration of Life services will take place on November 26, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Huff Cemetery.
Henry will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the many lives he touched through his work and faith.
