Dr. Harry D. Harper

Harry Donald Harper, cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 14, 2026 at the age of 81.

Born in Anderson, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Harry B. Harper and Edna Guynelle Edens Harper. Mr. Harper was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Emily Jane Harper. He and his wife were very active in their ministry, and they had a passion for pouring into others in hopes of improving as many lives as they could. Their ministry flourished throughout several churches in South Carolina and Georgia: Rockvale Church in Piedmont, South Carolina, Tom's Creek Church in Toccoa, Georgia, Grace Baptist Church and lastly, they founded New Generation Ministries in Danielsville, Georgia. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Terry Harper and his brother, James A. Harper.

Survivors include his children, Pamela McCurley (David), Jeffrey Harper (Sharon) and Jamey Harper (Kandace); grandchildren, Nicole Cartee (Michael), Hollie Harper, Drew McCurley (Kala), Dylan McCurley (Kayla), Kayla Drake (Chase), Danielle Bishop (Jonah), Donnie Harper (Camille), Austin Harper and Pasha West (Josh); great-grandchildren, Lexi Sullivan, Brayden Cartee, Walker Cartee, Zane Nix, Knox Cartee, Christian Beddingfield, Luk Cartee, Emersyn McCurley, Eliza McCurley, Beckham McCurley, River Bishop, Rowan McCurley, Crew Bishop, Grady McCurley, Chandler Harper, Lander Harper, Henley Harper, Lettie Drake and Millie Jane Drake; great-grandchildren, Braxxton, Carter and Kaizley; sister, Nancy Lee Fowler; daughter-in-law, Denise Harper and sister-in-law, Sandra Poore.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at 4:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, Danielsville. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service beginning at 3:00 pm.
