Gwendolyn Diane Willingham, 64, of Watkinsville, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

Born in Athens, she was a daughter of Myrtie Sue Powell Cowart and the late Luther William Cowart. Diane was an avid fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs and she loved NASCAR. She also enjoyed making blankets for her friends and family and most importantly, she thrived on time spent with her family and her beloved dog, Honey. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gregorie Allen Cowart.

Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Dennis “Pop” Willingham; daughters, Amy Ogle (Michael) and Janet Compton (Benji); step-daughters, Tara Willingham and Crystal Witt (Donny); sister, Denise Epps (Bruce); 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and four nieces and four nephews.

Memorial services will be Friday, October 20, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, East. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 until 1:00 pm at the funeral home.

Flowers are accepted.
