Grace Hoover Prather, 91, of Colbert, died March 9, 2011, at her residence.
Mrs. Prather was the daughter of the late Paul and Stella Hoover. She graduated from Georgia State College for Women and taught school in Jasper and Colbert. Mrs. Prather was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and a member of the Danielsville congregation.
Mrs. Prather was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Frazer Prather.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 11, 2011 at 7 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Danielsville. Private burial will be in the Eberhart cemetery on the Prather Family farm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors include daughters, Virginia (Leslie) Sorrow, of Athens, Emily (Dewitt) Smith, of Watkinsville, Mary Ann (Dennis) Simmons, of Colbert, and Sally (Bruce) Simmons, of Marked Tree, Ark.; son, Paul (Rebekah) Prather, of Colbert; and grandchildren, Lana and Tyler Simmons.
Family asks that, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
