Watkinsville, GA - Grace Evelyn Childs Chambers, 86, died August 1, 2005.
A native of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late John and Maude Hyde Scarborough and preceded in death by her first husband, Hoyt Childs and granddaughter, Stacey Lee. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Briarwood Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, August 3, 2005, at 11:00 AM at Watkinsville Cemetery. Family members will provide the eulogy. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Survivors include her husband, Henry C. Chambers; four daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn Adams (James), Betty Lee (Robert), Annette Chandler, and Jeanette Ray (Bobby) all of Watkinsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis Childs (Barbara), of Ila and Larry Childs (Linda), of Watkinsville; two sisters, Novis Carl of Tennessee and Margaret Crenshaw of Macon, GA; two brothers, Royce Scarborough of NC and Melvin Scarborough of AL; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the church or charity of your choice.
