Glenn Howard Mullian passed away on May 4, 2026, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his immediate family. Born on January 14, 1955, in Richmond, VA, he was the beloved son of the late Allan Mullian and Llene' Allen Mullian.
Glenn lived life with purpose, determination, and heart. He deeply loved his family, cherished his friendships, and had an intense passion for golf. He was fiercely competitive, Glenn often said that losing felt “like an adrenaline rush,” a reflection of the relentless spirit that defined him both in sports and in life.
An accomplished golfer, Glenn earned tremendous respect throughout the golfing community for his talent and dedication to the game. His many achievements included qualifying for and competing in two U.S. Senior Opens and one U.S. Senior Amateur Championship. He was named Virginia State Senior Golfer of the Year after winning the Virginia State Stroke Play Championship, Virginia State Amateur, and Virginia State Open all in the same year — an extraordinary accomplishment. Glenn proudly represented the state of Virginia in both the Virginia vs. West Virginia Team Matches and the Virginia vs. Carolinas Team Matches.
Over the years, Glenn won 18 Richmond Golf Association (RGA) events, including four City Amateur titles and multiple RGA Amateur and Senior Amateur championships, where he was also named Senior Champion. He was inducted in the VA Hall of Fame for the Courageous Award. One of his proudest achievements was winning the Chrysler National Club Champion Championship, which earned him the opportunity to compete in the Bob Hope Desert Classic alongside golfing greats including Tom Watson, Hale Irwin, Andy North, Bruce Vaughan, Kenny Knox, Donnie Hammond, and Bruce Fleisher.
Outside of golf, Glenn was a hardworking and successful businessman, owning and operating Regal Home Improvement with his partner and brother Arthur Mullian. Glenn was a walk on for the University of Georgia Golf Team, and graduated with a BS degree in Business Administration. He remained a devoted fan of UGA sports throughout his life.
More than any accomplishment, Glenn will be remembered for the “Miracle Man” he was — gentle yet incredibly strong, courageous, humble, ambitious, and honest. He inspired those around him through his perseverance, unwavering love for his family, and ability to face adversity with grace and tenacity. He had a unique sense of humor, a deep love for music, and was an avid fan of Van Morrison. Glenn would say, “when you work hard you play hard.” This mentality allowed him to travel and play at many famous golf courses. Glenn was a hero, mentor, motivator, and highly influenced many people.
Glenn was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and loyal friend whose presence brought comfort and laughter to those around him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of almost 45 years, Debbie Mullian; his daughters, Melissa Mullian and Kendall Hanley (Casey); his sister, Laura Ellen Greene (Art, Jr.); his brother, Arthur Mullian (Julie); and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Glenn’s legacy of love, resilience, strength, and loyalty will live on in all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
