Glenda “Kasey” Kay Clayton, 78, of Athens, passed away on July 20, 2025. Born on July 10, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Ben Kay and Mary Annice Kay.
Kasey was a long-time member of Athens First United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women’s group, Circle 4, and the Cornerstone Sunday School Class. She retired from Whit Davis Elementary School working as a paraprofessional in the media center and the classroom. Kasey loved sports, birdwatching, the theatre, and books (particularly children's and young adult books). One of her favorite places was Jekyll Island, which she visited regularly with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janice Johnson.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, William Clayton; children, Jennifer Frost and Benjamin Clayton (Maria Locke); grandchildren, Clay Frost, Eli Frost, Roxanna Clayton, Cash Clayton; brother-in-law, Kenneth Johnson.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Athens First United Methodist Church with a reception to follow.
