Gerald “Jerry” William Mader, Jr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gerald “Jerry” William Mader, Jr., age 60, who left us on May 17, 2025. A devoted husband, father, son, and friend, Jerry’s kindness, laughter, and love touched all who knew him.

Born September 4, 1964, in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, Jerry was the beloved son of Lois Ann Mader of Ft. Myers, Florida, and the late Gerald William Mader, Sr. He lived a life full of passion, purpose, and generosity.

Jerry dedicated his career to the specialty metals industry and brought that same dedication to his many interests and activities. Whether it was biking, running, golfing, watching football or coaching youth sports, his enthusiasm was boundless and contagious. His presence inspired those around him with his warm smile and encouraging spirit that had a special way of lifting everyone up, including his steadfast tradition of NEVER missing a Packers game. Above all, Jerry cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Ann Hyde; five children: Hudson Leonard, Hunter Leonard, Marissa (Brad) Bacon, Corey Mader, and Austin Mader; three sisters: Cindy Fisher, Becky Mader, and Sarah (Michael) McCutcheon; and three treasured grandchildren: Molly Bacon, Kensie Bacon, and Maurice McCutcheon; Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Sr. and his brother, Ken (Joy) Mader. Each of them, along with his mother, continues to carry his legacy of love, strength, and grace. Jerry was the kind of person who made others feel like they mattered. He had a gift for connection, whether it was through a quiet conversation, a shared joke, or a simple act of kindness.

As we remember Gerald Mader, we celebrate the joy he brought into our lives and the countless memories we shared. His spirit will live on in the stories we tell and the love we continue to share. A memorial service will be held in June, where we invite all who knew him to join us in honoring his life. Visit CelebrateJerryMader.rsvpify.com for more information.

Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, WEST, Watkinsville, is in charge of arrangements.
