George Brian Kohnken

George Brian Kohnken, age 68, passed away on July 12, 2024 at his home in Athens, Georgia. A lifelong musician, Geordie worked the harmonica so well he was once cited in a music publication in the south. Following his graduation from CW Post, Long Island University, Geordie made his home in Georgia, living off the land and playing gigs in Athens. A diagnosis of Parkinsonism slowed him down, but he never lost his enthusiasm for life. Geordie is survived by his daughter Alison Roy, who brightened these last few years immeasurably, her daughter Cayli, and his siblings, Jacqueline Beh, Richard Kohnken and Susan Onorato (Joseph R.), nephew, Matthew K. Beh (Asha), niece, Brooke K. Barrere (Rob), great nephews, Anand and Akash. He will be missed by many cousins and friends. Services will be private.
