Geneva Roberts Smith Frey

Geneva Roberts Smith Frey, 96, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025.

The family will greet friends on November 17, 2025 at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home EAST from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Immediately following the visitation, Graveside Services will be held at Athens Memory Gardens at 12:30 P.M. A meal will be served at Grace Fellowship Church, in Bogart, following the service.

Geneva Roberts was born to Arthur Q. Roberts and Vinnie T. Roberts on April 15, 1929 in Chatsworth, Georgia. Her love for family began in Chatsworth, where she was the baby of a very close-knit family of 11 children. She and her siblings remained close throughout their lives; regularly getting together in Chatsworth where the 26 grandchildren and many great grandchildren carried on that special fun loving Roberts family bond.

As an adult, Geneva spent more than 60 years in the Greater Atlanta Area. She retired from Olan Mills Portrait Studios as a District Manager in 1994. After her retirement, she was able to continue pursuing her favorite hobbies; shopping, travelling, Atlanta Braves Baseball, UGA football and, most importantly; spending time with her family.

Geneva is preceded in death by her parents; her 10 siblings; 13 nieces and nephews, and a son, Greg Smith.

Left to carry on her joy for life are her husband, Mr. Pete Frey; her daughter, Lisa Smith Wilhite; Grandchildren, Dana Helms (Josh); Jennifer Bartley; Adam Wilhite (Hannah); Candice Worley (Brandy); Christina Smith; Casey Smith (Jasmine); and Courtney VanNorman (Patrick); 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made in Geneva’s honor to Every Kid Sports and/or Wounded Warriors Project.
