Gary Edward Samples

Gary E. Samples, 62, of Colbert, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 4. 2024.

Born in Commerce, he was a son of the late Ralph and Wilma Samples. Gary was an avid fisherman, enjoyed three beers a day and most importantly, he adored his family.

Survivors include his wife, Fannie Samples; children, April Murray (James) and Ace Samples; grandchildren, Nykolas Murray, Hunter Murray, Braxton Samples, Nakoa Samples and Jacie Samples; siblings, Susan Samples, Yvonne Dyer (Pee-Wee), Frankie Samples and Steve Samples and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be private.

Ace – “Daddy, I know you’re missing “The Big One” on an old Zebco 33 with no shoes or shirt on. You might let God show you how to tie that hook on the right way. Now I’m by myself to make up the lies about the size. I love you, Daddy. I’ll see you when I see you, Love Ace”

April – “I will always need and miss you. Until I see you again.”
