Gary Eugene "Pete" Frey

Gary Eugene "Pete" Frey, age 86, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of June 23, 2026.

Pete, as he was known to his friends in the state of Georgia, was a man of many hobbies. He loved racing, both dirt track and Nascar: he loved Braves baseball and the Georgia Bulldogs; he loved Sunday morning Gospel and he loved country music; he loved his family and he loved his pets - not necessarily in this order.

Pete was also a very active member of the American Street Rodders Car Club. He counted the club members amona his dearest friends. He aways enjoyed the fellowship they shared over one of his favorite hobbies - Cars of All Kinds.

Pete is preceded in death by the grandparents who raised him - Mabel and Walter Frey of Hallam, PA; his parents; several half brothers and sisters; his beloved wife Geneva Roberts Smith Frey; and his stepson Greg Smith.

Surviving Pete are his half-sister, Bonita Noel of York, PA; his step-daughter, Lisa Wilhite of Madison, GA; Several half brothers and sisters; 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He aso has two daughters.

The family will greet friends on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home EAST from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Immediately following the visitation, a Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at 1:00 P.M. Interment will take place at a later date at Athens Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made in Mr Pete’s honor to the Gwinnett Humane Society.

Pete enjoyed life and making people laugh. He was dearly loved and will be missed.
