Garnett H. (Ty) Tyner, III

Garnett H. Tyner was born in Athens on February 18, 1946 to the late Garnett H. Tyner, Jr. and Hilda Brown Tyner.

He passed away on December 29, 2025. He was also preceded in death by his son, Robert Matthew Tyner, and his brother, David Tyner.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Beth Holmes Tyner, his daughter, Jennifer Tyner Aspinwall, three granddaughters, Reagan Aspinwall, Reese Aspinwall, and Rylee Tyner. He is also survived by his brother, Terry Tyner (Kathy), and sister-in-law, Jan Tyner. He is survived by nieces and nephews and several cousins. Ty was deeply loved by his family and will be missed.

Ty served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 7 years. He was self-employed as a Utility Contractor for 30 years. Ty had a strong faith in God and Jesus Christ. He was a former member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church.

A special thank you to Bristol Hospice, caring for Ty the last 6 months. The nurses and staff were kind and caring, always treating Ty and Beth with gentleness, as well as Lee Barreras, who also assisted in the care of Ty.

No public celebration of Ty's life will be held at this time.
