Fredda J. (Gillen) Murray

Fredda Gillen Murray, 70, of Watkinsville passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021. Born on February 25, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Syble Powell Gillen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Murray; sister, Henrietta Hulsey; cousin, Clara Ree Gillen.

As a graduate of Oconee County High School in 1969, Fredda was voted most talented in her class and also attended Athens Technical College. She retired from Richard B. Russell Research Lab as a biological lab technician. She was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church where she was in the choir for many years and was also a member of the Spirit Sunday School Class.

Survivors include first cousins and caregivers, Alice Combs and Joyce Hardigree; several other cousins and extended family members.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 11:00 am at Mars Hill Baptist Church cemetery with Pastor Rick Brittain officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Lord & Stephens west chapel.
