Frankie Suttles Hicks, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on October 4, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, creativity, faith, laughter, and devotion to her family.

Born on July 10, 1942, Frankie possessed a love of learning and literature that led her to the University of Georgia, where she graduated in 1964 with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature.

Frankie was an extraordinarily creative woman whose talents seemed to find expression wherever her hands and imagination led her. For many years, she used her artistic gifts through her catering and cake-decorating business, creating beautiful cakes and helping families celebrate some of the most important moments of their lives. She later continued to share her creativity through a home décor business.

Her creativity was never confined to her work. Throughout her life, Frankie pursued countless artistic interests and hobbies. She created beautiful quilts, worked with stained glass, and continually discovered new ways to turn ordinary materials into something special. Creating was simply part of who she was.

Frankie also had a special love and remarkable gift for gardening. She took great joy in tending her flowers and working in her flowerbeds, creating beautiful spaces around her home through patience, care, and a gardener’s knowing touch. But those gardens were more than a hobby or another expression of her creativity. Among her flowers, with her hands in the soil and surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation, Frankie found a quiet place of peace, prayer, and communion with the Lord.

Frankie also possessed a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She could find humor in everyday life and was never above sharing a joke, a playful remark, or a well-timed bit of wit with the people she loved. Her laughter and sense of fun became part of the fabric of family life, leaving behind stories that will continue to bring smiles and laughter for generations.

Yet of all the things Frankie created during her lifetime, nothing was more important to her than the family she built and nurtured. Her greatest and most enduring life’s work was raising her three children and loving the generations that followed them. She gave generously of herself as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and the lessons, traditions, memories, laughter, and love she shared with her family will continue long after her passing.

Frankie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randall C. Hicks, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and family, and by her son-in-law, Jeremy Jenkins.

She is survived by her children, David C. Hicks; Michael S. Hicks and his wife, Shannon Hicks; and Denakae Jenkins; her grandchildren, Erica Cruz, Randy Hicks, Ann “L-girl” Hicks, and Tiffany Sirmans; and her great-grandchildren, Olivia Cruz, Mikey Hicks, and Sebastian Sirmans.

Those who knew Frankie will remember a woman of remarkable creativity, intelligence, determination, humor, faith, and love. Her life can be seen in the beautiful things she made, in the gardens she lovingly tended, heard in the laughter of those who knew her, and most importantly, felt in the family she loved and devoted her life to raising.

Frankie now rests with those she loved who went before her, including her beloved Randall. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain, that she is rejoicing with her Lord and Savior, and that she and Randall are together once again, continuing the love story they began so many years ago in their forever home.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of her family.
