Ernest Murray Hall, Jr., 85, of Watkinsville Ga passed away December 9, 2025 at Legacy Village of Athens surrounded by family and friends who loved him. Born March 13, 1940, in Albany, GA, to the late Sarah Madalene Ranew Hall and Ernest Murray Hall, Sr. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Francene Willis Hall; his sister, Carloyn Hall Tomes; a son, Robert “Bob” Hall; and a granddaughter, Ashley Hall.
He attended Albany High School and proudly served his country for 4 years in the United States Air Force. He was a proud member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and Sons of American Revolution. He attended the University of Georgia in his forties, and after graduating in 1989, was hired by UGA as an accountant with Contracts and Grants. He loved the Georgia Bulldogs, Athens, and Oconee County.
Survivors include his wife, Connie; sons, David, Brian (Dawn) and Clint (Terri); grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Henderson, Stephanie Barker, Jessica (Andrew) Strickland, Melissa (Shane) Crenshaw, Amanda (Matthew) Rice, Taylor (Elise) Hall, Hayden Hall, Victoria (Zach) Rojas and Kayla Hall; great grandchildren, Autumn, Aiden, Samuel, Jaxon, Addison, Riley, Logan, Bryson, Carolyn, Sophie, Luke, Emilia, Kingston, Skylar.
Ernest and Connie married in 2014 and recently celebrated their 11th anniversary. They enjoyed spending time together and attending the Madison Church of Christ where they had many dear friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 3pm Sunday December 14th at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, West, Watkinsville with Minister Cary Oglesby of Madison Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1pm.
