Edward Dell Kenimer, Sr.

Edward Dell Kenimer, Sr., 96, of Watkinsville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025.

A beloved husband, devoted father, and doting grandfather, Edward’s life was defined by love, wit, and unwavering dedication to his family. He was a steady presence, whose warmth, wisdom, and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Betty Claire Tarpley Kenimer, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Their enduring bond was a guiding light to their family and all who knew them.

Edward is survived by two sons, Edward Dell Kenimer, Jr. and Joel Montgomery Kenimer; and by his cherished grandchildren: Edward Dell Sibley Kenimer, III (Brittney), William Montgomery Kenimer, Catherine Claire Sibley Kenimer, and Avery Caroline Kenimer Page (Saul).

Edward found joy in the simple and lasting things, he was a lifelong trumpet player and played in many groups including The Professors, and Athens based band. He also loved coaching Baseball and coached Little League and American Legion Baseball. Combine this with time with his family and meaningful conversations, and the pride he took in watching his children and grandchildren grow. His legacy is one of love, integrity, and deep familial devotion.

A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, April 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Lord and Stephens West Chapel. Burial will follow at Bishop Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
