Edward Clark Dingler, 82, of Union Point, Georgia, husband of fifty-nine years to Priscilla Edwards Dingler, entered rest on Saturday, December 23, 2023. Born in Crawfordville, Georgia, he was a son of the late Seth Clark and Mary Cleo Gibby Dingler. Edward loved his wife and daughters and always enjoyed participating in their activities, endeavors and adventures. He found pleasure in his entrepreneurial endeavors along with traveling, collecting knives, raising newfoundlands and dalmatians. He graduated from Union Point High School and attended Athens Tech. He was a long-term member of Bethel Baptist Church, past master of the Masonic Lodge Chappell #511 and a member of Yaarab Shrine Center. He served his community as a Volunteer Firefighter and retired with over twenty-four years of service in Union Point. He retired from the United States Postal Service with thirty-one years of service. His post-retirement career included his lifelong entrepreneurial endeavors, and he enjoyed working at Rutherfords Flower Shop for over twenty-four years.
Survivors in addition to his wife Priscilla include two daughters: Priscilla Anne Dingler Murphy and Donna Kaye Dingler and two brothers: John Alexander Dingler of North Augusta, South Carolina and William Richard Dingler of Union Point Georgia, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
Edward was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Dingler Stewart, and his brothers, Charles James, Seth Davis, and Robert Lee Dingler, and his son in law Ronnie Lee Murphy.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the Masonic Lodge and the Union Point Fire Department.
Visitation will be at 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at Bethel Baptist Church on Thursday, December 28, 2023.
Funeral Service will be a 2:30 pm at Bethel Baptist Church on Thursday, December 28, 2023, with Pastor
Gene Vaught officiating. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, Union Point, Georgia.
The family requests that any memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church or Masonic Lodge Chappell #511.
