Edmond Lynn Norton

Edmond Lynn Norton, affectionately known as Lynn, went to glory peacefully at his residence on May 26, 2026. Born on December 21, 1938, in Atlanta, Georgia, Lynn’s life was marked by dedicated service, both professionally and personally.

A graduate of Murphy High School in 1956, Lynn went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he pursued a career as a contractor specializing in petroleum pumps and hydraulic systems, becoming a well-respected figure in his field.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Lynn was deeply committed to supporting and advocating for veterans. He actively participated in several veteran non-profit organizations and frequently joined motorcycle rides organized for veteran groups. His dedication extended to his role as a member of the Marine Corps League Detachment 1083 in Athens, Georgia. Lynn’s family was central to his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Annelle Dixon Norton; his son and daughter-in-law, Derrick and Donna Norton; his daughter, Billie Norton Gambrell; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Gambrell and Emilly (Colton) Parrish. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond Lingo Norton and Emily Mae Busha Norton, as well as his son, Richard Norton.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so during a drop in visitation with family held on May 31, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the family residence located at 1040 Richwood Trail, Bogart, GA 30622.

Edmond Lynn Norton’s legacy is one of service, dedication, and unwavering support for his family and fellow veterans. He is remembered with respect and admiration by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
