Eddie "Eddie G" Wayne Garrett

Eddie Wayne “Eddie G” Garrett, 75, husband of 49 years to Barbara Dawson Garrett, died on December 27, 2023. Born in Athens, GA, he was the son of the late Ernest Cecil Garrett and Elizabeth Jackson Garrett and brother to the late Hinton “Uncle Bud” Garrett.  Mr. Garrett retired from Walton EMC after more than 40 years and served his country in the US Marine Corps. Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons:  Brian (Leigh) Garrett and Josh (Laura) Garrett; brothers: Lavohn “M.L.” (Sue) Garrett and James Garrett and was “PaG” to three grandchildren: Ben, Hinton and Anna Garrett. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 at 2PM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel with Rev. Jim Hinzman officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Barnett, Tommy “T” Daniel, Vance Dawson, Matt “Hammer” Garrett, Rusty Maddox, Adam “Peewee” Nix, Spencer “Peanut Man” Pilkinton, Herschel “Big Hersh” Pritchett, Sam Smith.
