Dwight Neal

Athens - Dwight Neal, 73, loving husband, father and grandfather, died August 17, 2008.
Born in Gibson, Ga., he was the son of the late Ralph Neal Sr. and Nancy Snider Neal. Mr. Neal was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from Westinghouse/ABB after 33 years. He was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and was President of Word Bearers Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 11 AM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, WEST, with Rev. Bill Ricketts officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Norm Allgood, Dan Casto, Marvin Doster, Jere Nunn, Robert Stephens, Robert Turner, Doug Waddell and Ron Weldon.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Word Bearers Sunday School Class and Deacons of Prince Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Chalker Neal; children, Greg and Karen Neal of Rock Spring, Ga. and Selena and Curtis Culwell of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; siblings, Hazel Bedingfield of Gibson, Billy Neal of Bartow, Ralph Neal Jr. of Gibson, Wally Leimekuehler of Slater, Mo. and Jennie Johnson of Augusta; grandchildren, Jacob Neal, Joshua Neal, Jonah Neal, Bradley Culwell, Megan Culwell, Caroline Culwell and Wesley Culwell; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 until 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prince Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund.
