Dr. Carole Congleton Ludwig, 82, of the Farmington Community, died on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Born in Yazoo, MS, she was the daughter of the late James Earnest Congleton and Yole Wooten Congleton. Carole was also preceded in death by her grandson, Hunter Pritchard, husband, David Ludwig and four brothers and sisters, Geraldine Stevens, Quinnis Congleton, Melvin Congleton and Ellen Boyd. Carole received her DVM from Auburn University of Veterinary Medicine and during her time at a veterinarian she founded three practices, with the most recent being The Vet at Blueridge in Watkinsville, GA. In retirement Carole volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels with the Oconee County Senior Center and assisted in transporting Veterans to the VA Hospital and other appointments. Carole was an equine enthusiast. Survivors include her life partner; Mark Freeman; sons: John (Cindy) Pritchard and Sayle (Christine) Pritchard; grandchildren: Auburn (Noelle), Victoria, John III (Lisa), Abigail (Francisco) and Carole Rose Pritchard, Carrie (Matt), Clayton (Jordan) and Austin (Dillon) Norris and great grandchildren: Zachary, McKenna, Breanna and William Sayle Pritchard, Emmie Claire Norris and Blake Lanier. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11AM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers denotations may be made to the American Cancer Society or any Veteran Organization that assists veterans with transportation.
