Donald Wesley McClure

Mr. Donald Wesley McClure, age 78 of Bogart passed away at his home following a period of declining health. Mr. McClure was born in Doerun, GA on April 21, 1934 to Ralph and Rose Lee Lokey McClure. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was the owner and operator of Athens Appliance Center and a member of the Athens Citivian Club. Mr. McClure was a member and deacon of Beech Haven Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents as well as his first wife Laverne McClure. Mr. McClure is survived by his wife, Emily Sims McClure; children, Ray McClure, Renee' McClure; step-son and daughter-in-law Jake and Amanda Williams; grandchildren Christina Williams, Jacob Williams, Amber Williams, and Jessica Jones. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Funeral services will he held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Stewart Sims officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to the Athens Area Humane Society c/o 1781 Mars Hill Road Watkinsville, GA 30677. Lord and Stephens WEST is in charge of arrangements.
