Don was a Boy Scout from an early age and was a leader of several troops. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, cooking, and baking, but Don’s true passion was music. He collected albums, CDs, and 45s. He enjoyed traveling to record shows throughout North Georgia. Don was an avid concert goer with The Allman Brothers, John Prine, the Rolling Stones, the Eagles, and Elton John being only a few shows that he had attended. Don was thrilled to be able to make his goal of attending the ZZ Top concert at the Classic Center this past October.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Howard Allison, and several aunts and uncles. Also preceding Don in death were his dear friends Teddy Santarone, Bill Harbin, and Alice Pollingue. His ex-wife, Mary O'Brien Davis, also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Kris Allison of Watkinsville, and his son Casey Allison and daughters Holly Allison of Georgia, Crystal (Darren) Howe of Louisiana. Other surviving relatives include his beloved grandchildren, Alex Longtin, Jeremy Howe, Dylan and Ansley Allison. He is also survived by his brother Neil Allison (Amelia) and nephew Joey Allison (Rebecca) and nieces, Betsy Allison, and Alyse Gardner (Robert).
