Dixie Sloan McCoy

Dixie Sloan McCoy, 82, of Watkinsville, passed away on June 7, 2024. Born on March 25, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Dixon Sloan and Helen Barber Sloan.

Dixie was a loving mother and grandmother and loved to sparkle from head to toe. Besides the Lord, she loved her family above all. She retired from Oconee County School Systems as a Paraprofessional, working primarily with those with special needs. She continued to work at the school system part time after retiring.  She was truly a bright light in this world.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Andrew McCoy; brother, Dean Sloan; granddaughter, Kaitlyn McCoy.

Survivors include her children, Jessie McCoy, Mike McCoy (Stacey), Jeff McCoy (Glory), Joshua McCoy (Christy), Shannon McCoy; sister, Lillian Sanders; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous extended family members.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 3:30 PM at Colbert Cemetery with Mark Preston officiating.
