Dianne Diletto, 86, of Athens, peacefully passed away on November 15 2024. Born in Oconee County, Georgia, she was the cherished daughter of the late Margaret Dickens Murray and J.W. Murray, and Romey D. Oldham. Dianne is preceded in death by her sons, Teddy Nelms and Steve Nelms, her sister, Nancy Lord Eades, and her brother, Mike Murray.

After her retirement, she continued to exemplify her strong work ethic by serving the community at Belk in Athens for another 12 years. She had a passion for cooking and devoted herself to nurturing her family. An avid Georgia Bulldog fan, Dianne embraced life with joy, whether through bowling or leisurely walks at the mall.

Her memory will be cherished by her children, Phil and Lisa Nelms of Bishop, and Beth Nelms of Athens; sister, Rita Huff; brother, Dick Oldham; sister-in-law, Ivy Murray. Dianne also leaves behind a loving legacy of grandchildren: Shaun Nelms (Kim), Jessica Valinoto (Nick), Michelle Hayes (Trey), Andrea Gayhart, Nathan Nelms, Matt Fielding, and Joey Fielding, as well as her late husband’s children, Joe DiLetto (Mary) and Dottie Suggs (Julian).
