Diane Kay Barton, 74, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, educator, and the loving wife of the late Dennis Barton. Diane dedicated her life to teaching and to the children she cared for throughout her long career. She earned her master’s degree in education and retired after many years as a beloved teacher. Her compassion, patience, and encouragement shaped countless young lives.
She is survived by her son, Josh Miller of Athens, Georgia; her daughters, Nichole Hall of Loveland, Colorado, and Sara Cramer of Phenix City, Alabama; and her brother, Lon Willer of Sidney, Montana. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Annalea and Maddox Miller, and Ashton and Noah Cramer.
In accordance with her wishes, no formal service will be held. Her remains will be spread in the places she loved most, honoring the peace and beauty she cherished throughout her life.
The highlight of Diane’s life was her family—her children, her grandchildren, and her late husband, Dennis. Her warmth, strength, love of children, and dedication to teaching leave a lasting legacy for all who knew her. She will be missed dearly by all who were blessed to know her.”
