David Alan Nixon

David Alan Nixon, 71, of Athens Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.   He graduated from Morris Hills High School, Rockaway, NJ in 1968 and started traveling around the United States.  He lived in Georgia and New Jersey for the last 23 years.    He worked in a variety of jobs most recently as a Landscaper at the Double Oaks Golf Club in Commerce, Georgia where he was so proud of the flowers and trees that he planted as he watched them grow.

David was a wonderful brother, friend and loving uncle.  He loved animals especially his dogs, Scooter and Domino who he took everywhere with him.   He was kind and respectful to all who knew him.

He is predeceased by his parents, George and Jeanne Nixon and his brothers Donald and James Nixon.  He is survived by his sister, Sandra James, Newton, New Jersey, sister-in-law, Helen Nixon, Houston, Texas, three nieces and five nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held in Athens, Georgia.
