David William Hill

David William Hill, 89, died on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

A native of New Jersey, David was the son of the late Henry Eric Hill and Ruth Cushman Hill and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Nina Sue Hill. David earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Stanford in 1966 and retired from the EPA. He was a longtime member of Tuckston United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 8 years, Wanda Amos Hill; children: Jeffrey Eric (Alice) Hill, Daniel David (Leigh) Hill and Abigail Hill Spratlin (Sefik) Glamocic; step children: Stephen (Jennifer) Amos and Dawn Amos (Jacob) Smrekar; siblings: Kenneth Cushman (Elaine) Hill, Norman Eric (Joan) Hill and Alice Edith (John) Hill; grandson: Edward Pope Spratlin, Jr. and step grandchildren: Ellie Amos and Christian and Tori Smrekar.

A celebration of David’s life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 10AM at Tuckston United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. John Brown officiating. A reception will follow the celebration of life.
