Darlene Emma Thomas

Darlene Parham Thomas, 94, passed away February 14, 2026 at Comer Health and Rehabilitation. She was born at home in Comer GA on March 17, 1931 to Isham J. and Nella Bond Parham. Darlene was a lifelong member of Meadow Baptist Church and a native of Madison County. Having lived most of her life in the same home in Comer for 75 years, where she and her late husband of 58 years, Fred A. Thomas, raised all 4 of their children. She enjoyed countless visits from their grandchildren and great grandchildren, loved hosting holidays, and tending her flowers and vegetable garden. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Steve Thomas, and infant son, Michael Thomas; brothers, Luther Parham, Billy Parham, and Jackson Parham.

Funeral service will be Wednesday February 18, 2026 3:00 PM at Meadow Baptist Church. The family will receive family and friends, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at the church. The interment will be in Meadow cemetery.

Survivors include her sister, Nelda Parham Gentry Farr or Hartwell; her son, Daniel I. Thomas of Comer; daughters, Gayle (Johnny) Adams of Hartwell and Felisha (Bently) Fitzpatrick of Comer; grandchildren, John K. Adams of Hartwell, Jamie Adams of Seattle, Washington, and Adrienne F. (Jamie) Welch of Comer; great grandchildren, Hannah Adams (Kyle Whalen) of Lavonia, Jesse Adams of Hartwell, and Brody and Braxton Welch of Comer. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to everyone at Comer Health and Rehab for their loving care since April of 2023 and to Affinis Hospice for their care during her final days on this earth.

Pallbearers will be Bently Fitzpatrick, Jesse Adams, Jamie Welch, and Kyle Whalen.

Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to the Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
