Athens, GA - Dale B. Prell, 67, died January 22, 2014.
Born in Mauston, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Wilbert F. and Inez Behrens Prell.
Dale received his Bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin, Lacrosse and his Master's from Northern Colorado University. He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1968 - 1972. Before moving to Athens in 2009, he was a longtime resident of Warner Robins where he retired as Deputy Director of Services, Air Force Reserves HQ, Robins AFB. Dale was an avid tennis player and golfer, and being from Wisconsin, was a committed Packers fan. He loved to visit St. Augustine Beach and enjoyed playing guitar, especially Christian praise music. Above all, he was passionate about his grandchildren through which his legacy lives.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Nancy Prell; son, Brian Prell (Leigh) of Athens; daughter, Amy Hunter (Jim) of Snellville; grandchildren, Braeden Allen Prell, Ansleigh Taylor Prell, Cailyn Alaina Prell, Caleb Franklin Hunter, Macie Elizabeth Hunter and Joshua Clayton Hunter; sisters, Joan Byrne of Wisconsin, Fran Kubista of Minnesota, Myrna Winter (Randy) of Minnesota and Loretta Eckelberg (Tom) of Wisconsin; brothers in law, Ken Clayton (Mona) of Wisconsin, Dan Clayton (Mary Lou) of Wisconsin, Tim Clayton (Joan) of Florida and Tom Clayton (Rhonda) of Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, WEST with Rev. Jim Hunter officiating. Interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
