Cynthia Roberts

Cynthia (Cindy) Haygood Roberts, 72, of Watkinsville passed away on July 5, 2026. Born on December 7, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Emerson Haygood and Joan Reynolds Haygood.

Cindy was a devoted Mama and proud Gramma who found her greatest happiness in being with her family. She treasured holiday gatherings, family game nights, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldawgs together. One of her greatest joys was hosting Friday night sleepovers with her granddaughters.She also cherished her weekly "Thursday Therapy" lunches with her best friend, Pam. At home, she enjoyed the companionship of her beloved cat, Buddy, but everyone knew her favorite "grandchild" was Charlie, the family dog. Charlie always had a special place in her heart, and she loved spoiling him with treats whenever she had a chance.

She was a devoted longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was actively involved in the Ladies' Group and treasured the friendships she formed there. She especially looked forward to the Saturday lunches shared with the ladies. She was a 1972 graduate of Oconee County High School. She dedicated 30 years of service to the University of Georgia School of Social Work before retiring and continued to serve the School in a part-time role after her retirement.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Roberts.

Survivors include her daughters, Jennifer Brugh (Daniel), Missy Krumm; grandchildren: Isaac Krumm, Tyler Brugh, Hunter Brugh, Clayton Brugh(Paisley), Joana Brugh, Caitlynn Krumm, Anna-Kate Brugh, and Emma Brugh. A brother Randy Haygood (Linda).

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Oconee Memorial Park with Jason Smith officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11:00 AM in the Oconee Chapel at the cemetery.
