Craig Anthony Burnett, born on September 14, 1994, in McDonough, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence in Winder, Georgia, on August 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Craig dedicated his professional life to serving others as a funeral director and embalmer. He provided compassionate care and support to families during their times of loss, ensuring that each loved one was honored with dignity and respect. His education at Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science prepared him for a career that was both challenging and rewarding, reflecting his commitment to helping those in need. Known for his dedication and thoughtful personality, Craig had the unique ability to connect with everyone he met. He was known for being a great listener and showing a genuine interest in the lives of others. Outside of his professional commitments, Craig enjoyed various hobbies, particularly deer hunting, which allowed him to connect with nature and spend quality time with friends and family. Craig is survived by his wife, Maddie Burnett; his parents, Tony and Donna Burnett; his brother, Adam Burnett; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Kim McCormack. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles and cousins who will cherish his memory. Craig was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Donald Lee Whitmer and Mary Claire Whitmer, and his paternal grandparents, Herbert and Violet Elizabeth Burnett. The legacy of Craig Anthony Burnett will live on through the countless lives he touched and the love he shared with his family and friends. His passion for serving others and his kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A celebration of Craig's life will be held on Saturday, September 6th, 2025 at 11 at Salem Baptist Church, 1724 GA-155 N, McDonough, GA 30252. A private burial will be held at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 2700 Colham Ferry Road, Watkinsville, GA 30677. Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, WEST, Watkinsville, GA is in charge of arrangements.
